UK MoD Protects Laptop Data

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) is set to install encryption software which requires user authentication in response to a spate of high-profile data breaches.

According to ComputerworldUK, the MoD will install BeCrypt's Disk Baseline software across 20,000 Royal Airforce, Army and Navy laptops.

The software will cover laptops not in the Defence Information Infrastructure, a Microsoft-centred project to provide secure data access online.

BeCrypt software can be easily integrated with future technology, the MoD says.
