BAE Wins MRAP Vehicle Deal

19 March 2008 14:51

BAE Systems has won two contracts to deliver Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles for the US Marines.

The US$715m deal adds to the US$2.95bn-worth of orders the US Department of Defence has already placed with the firm for armoured vehicles, BAE says.

BAE's Armour Holdings division will deliver 474 RG33 category-II armoured vehicles and 1,024 Caiman-based category I lorries, beginning in August.

All vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.
