Standardised M&S Technology Yet to Be Achieved06 March 2008 13:59 Modelling and simulation (M&S) technology in the defence sector has yet to achieve standardisation due to its diverse application, industry analyst Frost & Sullivan says. In its report Modelling and Simulation for Aerospace and Defence Applications, Frost & Sullivan says researchers could facilitate standardisation by using a general framework for each M&S technique. Research analyst Yin Fern Ko says researchers have already addressed technical issues such as integration, interoperability and composability. "In the future, various M&S techniques will be integrated to form a system that facilitates military decision-making by referring to the factors considered in the simulations," Ko says. "Technology enhancements and strong industrial partnerships will go a long way in driving the development of M&S in aerospace and defence." By staff writer » Email this link to a friend |
