Thales and Tata Power SED to Collaborate on Optronics Systems

20 February 2008 10:58

Thales and Indian firm Tata Power SED have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly offer optronics systems for airborne platforms.

Tata Power SED is the defence division of Tata Power, which designs, develops, produces, supplies and maintains defence systems in the emerging private sector of India's defence industry.

The firm has developed launchers for India's Pinaka MBRL System, the Akash missile programme.

Thales says the agreement will allow the two companies to combine their respective know-how and competencies to offer a unique portfolio of solutions for defence airborne optronics.
