Lockheed Martin Acquires PercepTek

15 January 2008 14:18

Lockheed Martin has acquired autonomous software provider PercepTek for an undisclosed sum.

PercepTek develops software solutions for autonomous navigation for unmanned ground vehicles, autonomous collaboration operations for unmanned aerial vehicles and automated persistent surveillance for security applications.

It will be managed by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, a division of Lockheed's Electronic Systems.

Electronic Systems executive vice president Christopher Kubasik says the purchase complements Lockheed's business activities as the firm is already a leader in autonomous vehicle development.

"The acquisition of PercepTek will strengthen our capabilities in unmanned systems and surveillance, allowing us to provide a broader portfolio of solutions to our customers," he says.
