BAE Sells Surveillance And Attack Business

BAE Systems has announced the sale of its Surveillance and Attack business to a subsidiary of Cobham Defence Electronic Systems Corporation.

The US$240m cash deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008, subject to regulatory approval.

The division, based in Pennsylvania, US, will be taken over by Sensor and Antenna Systems, also based in Pennsylvania.

BAE's Surveillance and Attack business provides broadband high-power transmitter and radio frequency front-end systems for military aircraft, which are used for communications and radar jamming as well as radar warning.
