BAE to Develop Software for DARPA Programme

The US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded BAE Systems a US$3.4m contract to create advanced software development tools and processes for its Producible Adaptive Model-based Software (PAMS) programme.

In the first phase of the contract, expected to run until January 2009, BAE will adapt large-scale software systems to address emerging threats such as asymmetric warfare.

The contract includes an option for a second phase of development, also valued at US$3.4m.
