EADS Wins Swiss Future Soldier System Contract

EADS Defence and Security has won a contract to develop a prototype future soldier system for the Swiss Army.

The equipment, part of the Swiss infantry modernisation programme Integriertes Modulares Einsatzsystem Schweizer Soldat (IMESS), offers survivability, mobility, fire power and communications EADS says.

With a full-scale production option, the contract is worth €120m.

EADS will work with Safran Group's Sagem Défense Securité division.

The protype is expected to be delivered in September 2008.
