BAE Unveils Helmet Display System

13 November 2007 16:31

BAE Systems has unveiled a helmet-mounted display technolgoy for pilots, which enhances situational awareness.

The Q-sight system featurs a lightweight, ergonomic design with increased visibility, flexibility and reliability to maximise pilot safety and comfort, BAE says.

The display weighs less than four ounces and clips to any helmet, allowing plug-and-play functionality.

BAE says the low weight design will minimise eye and neck strain for pilots.

BAE vice president of defence avionics Clark Freise says the system delivers "mission-critical situational awareness exactly where it is needed".

"The Q-sight family provides pilots with 'heads-up, eyes-out' capability", he says.
