General Dynamics Land Systems has won a US$411.2m contract to modify the Abrams Tank System Technical Support.

The US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command contract will fund engineering studies on Abrams tanks to identify improvements and replace obsolete parts to maintain the tanks in readiness for operation.

General Dynamics say the work will be completed by the end of 2011.
