Lockheed Pinpoints US GPS Proposal

Lockheed Martin says it has submitted a proposal to design and build the US Air Force's next-generation Global Positioning System Space Segment program (GPS Block III), with ITT Corporation and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.

The new system will be designed to improve position, navigation and timing services for the warfighter and civil users around the world and will feature improved security, anti-jamming capabilities, accuracy and reliability.
