British defence company BAE Systems has for the first time announced US trade has overtaken its UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contracts, a report in The Times says today.

BAE says that 40% of all sales in the first half of the year could be attributed to the US – a figure that has already grown to 50% following the acquisition of Armor Holdings at the end of July.
