Dubai International Buys into EADS

06 July 2007

Dubai International Capital has bought a 3.12% stake in EADS (European Aeronautic, Defence and Space) for an undisclosed sum.

Although the investment company has not disclosed the transaction terms the stake was worth €614m at yesterday's closing price, online news service Bloomberg reported.

The purchase will make Dubai International the fifth largest shareholder of EADS, but the investment company says it has no plans to take a board seat or an active role in the company.

EADS makes helicopters, fighter jets, missiles, passenger jets and transport aircraft.
