The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) Artillery Corps is likely to receive new cannon systems as part of a multiyear plan.

The two primary cannon systems being considered are Israel’s ATMOS and Germany’s AGM system, which will be manufactured in the US.

The IDF Artillery Corps expects the new cannon system to feature increased range and rate of fire as well as enhanced ability for automatic loading.

The new system is expected to replace the existing Doher 155mm cannon system with IDF artillery units.

The ATMOS has a range of 40km and is capable of firing a 155mm shell, while the AGM can fire up to six shells a minute.
