The Indian and British Armies have completed a four-week joint exercise, Ajeya Warrior, in the middle of the Salisbury Plain training area in the UK.

Troops from the Indian Army’s 3rd Battalion, the Bihar Regiment, participated in the exercise alongside UK troops from 19 Light Brigade.

Four Chinook helicopters, two Warrior armoured fighting vehicles and Challenger battle tanks also took part in the bilateral military exercise.

Exercise Ajeya Warrior included a simulated counterinsurgency scenario to test the readiness of the soldiers during a joint operation.

The British and Indian Armies have been exercising together over the past three years, including the reciprocal company exercise that took place in India last year.
