Northrop Grumman has been awarded a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide training and technical services in support of the US Army Mission Command training programme (MCTP).

The $388.4m contract, awarded by the Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command Centre includes a one-year base with four option years.

Under the contract, the company will provide critical training support based upon real-world threat scenarios to US Army and Allied commanders and staff from battalion to corps level.

US Army brigades are required to undergo an MCTP exercise before being deployed into a combat theatre.

Northrop Grumman Technical Services corporate vice-president and president Tom Vice said that the company had been providing realistic and challenging training support to the US army for more than 20 years.

Work will be carried out at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, US, and training facilities worldwide.
