Mercury Computer Systems will supply its OpenVPX-based radar subsystems to support Patriot air and missile defence system upgrades.

The radar system will be delivered to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems as part of a contract awarded to upgrade the missile defence system for Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.

The OpenVPX combines Mercury’s MultiCore Plus software suite and enables scalability while maintaining low-latency operation.

Patriot is a combat-proven air and missile defence system that provides protection against threats that include aircraft, tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
