The Russian Defence Ministry is planning to purchase Iskander-M tactical missile systems, deputy defense minister general Dmitry Bulgakov said.

“We purchased six [Iskander] systems in 2010, and plan to acquire up to 120 more,” he added.

The mobile theatre missile system, also known as SS-26 Stone, is equipped with two solid-propellant single-stage 9M723K1 guided missiles, according to RIA Novosti.

The missiles with ‘quasi-ballistic’ capability can carry conventional and nuclear warheads and have a range of 400km.
