Turkish vehicle manufacturer Otokar has been awarded a $63.2m export contract to provide its new ARMA 6×6 tactical armoured vehicles as well as spare parts and training.

The ARMA 6×6 variant is a 6.4m-long, 2.7m-wide vehicle with a 19t combat weight that can carry a driver, commander and eight dismounts in its fully NBC protected hull.

The amphibious vehicle is driven by two hydraulically driven propellers in water, ensuring a high seagoing performance with a pivot turn capability.

Deliveries are scheduled to take place in 2012.

The company is also the prime contractor for Turkey’s very first national main battle tank ALTAY project.
