Goodrich Corporation Sensors and Integrated Systems has received a follow-on order from Saab Bofors Dynamics to provide additional inertial measurement units (IMUs) for its next-generation light anti-tank weapon (NLAW) system.

The Goodrich rugged MEMS-based IMUs provide missile navigation and guidance and are designed to operate in the harshest environments.

The IMUs offer the warfighter the ability to sense and accurately measure rotational and linear movement and can be used on a range of military platforms.

NLAW is a lightweight, portable fire-and-forget anti-tank weapon that records the soldier’s aiming movement to calculate and predict a flight path to the target.

The contract covers additional export NLAW units, with deliveries expected to be completed in 2012.
