Raytheon has been awarded a US Army operations, planning, training and resource support services (OPTARSS) II contract to meet the mission needs of operational customers of army and the Department of Defense worldwide.

The five-year contract indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, multiple-award task order contract has a ceiling value of $2.5bn.

Under the contract, task orders will be issued for operational planning, training, modelling and simulation, flight operations, mobilisation plans and execution, deployment operations, force protection and transformation services.

Raytheon Technical Services Company president John Harris said a diverse team of small, medium and large-business partners had been assembled to focus on offering services and solutions to warfighters when required.
