The Australian Army S-70A Black Hawk full-flight and mission simulator (FFMS) has entered services following the completion of major upgrades.
The S-70A Black Hawk has been upgraded with electronic warfare capabilities that include addition of a new missile warning systems, countermeasures dispensing system, and missile warning sensors.
The system has also been given a visual upgrade by adding the CAE Medallion 6000 image generator.
The upgrades, carried out by CAE Australia, are part of the management and support of the Australian defence force’s aerospace simulators (MSAAS) contract.
CAE Australia operations director Peter Redman said the upgrades enhanced the Australian Army training capabilities and ensured concurrency with the fleet of Black Hawk helicopters.
