The Israeli Army is planning to develop a sensor that could monitor the physical state of infantry soldiers on major combat operations.
A plan has been drafted in cooperation with the military’s Medical Corps to review the available technology and requirements for a personal sensor.

“The sensor would be crucial in operational planning as well as allowing commanders to understand how much they could push their men,” a military source said.
“A commander can know how much fuel and ammunition is left in a tank. We want to enable infantry commanders to know basically the same about their soldiers,” a medical corps officer said.
The sensor would be strapped to the wrist of the soldier to enable fighting without interference, and would alert the commander of exhaustion and dehydration, particularly during exercises.
