Germany’s Bundeswehr has accepted the first of 35 TGX 26.360 6X2-2 LL driver training trucks from Rheinmetall.

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) received the €3.2m vehicle order in 2016.

Suitable for both civil and military applications, these trucks are claimed to offer an excellent price/performance ratio.

RMMV supplies a full array of military trucks including tracked and wheeled fighting vehicles and turret systems to nations across the world.

In November this year, Rheinmetall was contracted to supply new practice ammunition for Bundeswehr’s main battle tanks.

Rheinmetall will produce and supply a total of 10,000 rounds of new full-calibre 120mm practice ammunition, DM98.

Rheinmetall Waffe Munition-built DM98 cartridge has a geometry and length comparable to its DM18 predecessor and above average accuracy even at ranges exceeding 2,000m, according to the company.

The ammunition also features a tracer function that is said to assure good and steady visibility in all light conditions.

In 2015, the new full-calibre round was qualified for all variants of Leopard 2 main armament in order to meet an urgent operational requirement.

Rheinmetall expects to receive an order for a further 3,200 cartridges at the beginning of 2018, with the expected delivery in the first quarter of the year.
