Term: Armoured Personnel Carrier


Definition:

An armoured personnel carrier is a tracked or wheeled light armoured vehicle, designed to carry infantry and protect them from small arms fire and shrapnel. Usually armed with machine guns, many armoured personnel carriers have a modular design enabling variants to be created for a wide range of missions such as army ambulance, command vehicle, anti-tank weapon carrier, air defence and many more.
