Rod Beckstrom, a former Silicon Valley entrepreneur, resigned as chief of the National Cyber-Security Center (NCSC) in March criticising what he characterised as the NSA's undue influence over national cybersecurity initiatives. Some officials from the Department of Homeland Security attributed Beckstrom's criticism to personality clashes and an inability to deal with government culture.
