Securing Nuclear Materials: The 2010 Summit and Issues for Congress
19 January 2012The 2010 Nuclear Security summit resulted in a joint statement saying that international cooperative action is necessary to prevent an act of nuclear terrorism, as well as pledging to improve nuclear security standards, bring international agreements into force and share best practices.

The report also provides considerations and options for Congress as it continues to decide on funding for the US domestic and international programmes focused on nuclear material security and nuclear terrorism prevention.
