Defense Surplus Equipment Disposal: Background Information

The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services are responsible for property reuse, precious metal recovery, recycling, hazardous property disposal and the demilitarisation of military equipment.

This report provides detailed background information related to when a defence property is declared as ready for disposal, the disposition service activities, means of disposal and the terms and conditions required to accomplish the intent of disposal.
