National Security Strategy of Poland
16 March 2010Poland is one of the militarily strong member states of Nato and the EU. Its strategic defence goals should ensure its independence and territorial inviolability, and create accurate possibilities to actively develop relations in the international environment and take effective actions through the defence of national interests.
International organised terrorism is a threat to Poland, and the nation has been undertaking an anti-terrorist campaign as a consequence of Nato or EU-led stabilisation and peacekeeping operations.
Poland is also developing bilateral and multilateral cooperations with other central and Eastern European countries. As part of the collective defence as well as to protect its borders, the country intends to create a modern, well equipped national reserve force to increase the its defence potential.
