Turkey's Defence White Paper for 2007

This white paper discusses Turkey's understanding of global problems such as international terrorism, which have become a key concern worldwide, and its keenness to contribute to the rise of a safer world. It also analyses the important effects and influence of the second Iraqi war, during which the Turkey faced many challenging situations, and its accession to the EU.

Turkey's efforts to develop bilateral and multilateral relations with the members of the EU and to provide maximum support is another key topic, along with the security and defence policies of Turkey, and cultural and defence ties with Eurasian countries.

Turkey's military strategy guarantees the ability to maintain military forces against possible national threats even in risky situations, and participation in international and regional alliances including Nato, WEU and European Security and Defence Identity.
