Kärcher Futuretech GmbH offers NBS protection systems, camp set up and maintenance, mobile catering and water purification solutions for peacekeeping and disaster relief operations. To fulfil the basic need for drinking water KÄRCHER Futuretech has developed a range of mobile purification systems. These systems are able to desalinate sea and brackish water and produce drinking water out of nearly any water quality without the need for chemicals. The systems can either be mounted on trailers or installed in containers in accordance with specific requirements. KÄRCHER Futuretech has also developed a mobile water bottling plant and packaging system to provide drinking water in the field. KÄrcher’s other products include the FilaTwist 4000 back-washable filament filter, and the E-Chlorinator, a chemical-free component for the disinfection of water. Waterclean water purification system The Waterclean water purification system is able to sweet, brackish or salty water (raw water quality might influence the production rate) using a method based upon reverse osmosis technology. Some systems have an integrated electrical power generator and can operate autonomously without the need for an external power supply. The purification capacities of the Waterclean series of water purification systems vary from 10,000 up to 240,000 litres of tasty drinking water per day depending on requirement – enough to supply up to 60,000 persons. The systems can be mounted on trailers or installed in containers in accordance with specific needs. WPS 1600 modular water packaging system The WPS 1600 modular water packaging system is a compact and economical solution which enables the packaging of up to 1,600 litres of water per hour in the field. The system is designed for bagging drinking water in tubular containers made of foil material. It is suitable for continuous operation and requires only a periodical control during operation. The WPS 1600 can be configured with an electrical power generator and a single-axle trailer for missions in rough terrain. WBP 700 water bottling plant The WBP 700 is a water bottling plant is capable of producing up to 700 lightweight one litre PET bottles per hour in the field. These bottles are then filled with drinking water from systems such as the WTC 500 under the most hygienic of conditions. This reduces the logistical effort for a field camp dramatically. FilaTwist 4000 pre-filtering system The Fila Twist is an ideal pre-filter for membrane systems which process raw water which is heavily polluted with suspended substances. It has a filtration capacity of up to 4,000 l/h in 24 hours continuous operation. Water storage and distribution container KÄRCHER’s 16,000 litre capacity water storage and distribution container features an integrated unit to prevent bacterial growth in the water if stored for a longer time. E-chlorinator KÄRCHER’s E-chlorinator produces chlorine for the disinfection of drinking water from table salt, meaning transport and handling of hazardous materials is no longer necessary for mobile drinking water purification. A certain amount of chlorine protects drinking water against bacterial aftergrowth.
