TATRA - Military Trucks

TATRA, a. s., located in Koprivnice, Czech Republic, is an experienced manufacturer of heavy-duty all-wheel-drive off-road trucks, chassis-cabs, and special vehicles with exceptional mobility and robustness.

The concept of the chassis, whose basics date back to the 1920s, consists in independently swinging half-axles and extremely rigid 3D frame, combining a 'backbone' tube and a ladder frame fixed together.

This system, providing exceptional resistance against twist and bending, makes the chassis especially suitable for transporting standard and special containers, shelters, electronic equipment, special superstructures, or sensitive materials.

For many of these reasons the TATRA chassis concept is considered a family heirloom of the company.

TATRA CHASSIS CONCEPT

The concept of a 'backbone' tube and independently swinging half-axles was first used on a TATRA passenger car in 1923. Since then it has been constantly developed and improved, and has been employed in vast numbers of different models of heavy-duty off-road TATRA trucks and vehicles, both commercial and military, operating in the most hostile environments throughout the world.

INDEPENDENT SWING HALF-AXLES

Each wheel moves up and down independently, which allows for remarkably higher speed on rough roads, quick pass over obstacles and exceptional off-road and cross-country mobility. the swing half-axles are also extremely resistant against impacts and shocks.

TATRA T815-7 - NEW FAMILY OF HIGH-MOBILITY HEAVY-DUTY TACTICAL TATRA TRUCKS

The new TATRA T815-7 family of high-mobility heavy-duty tactical tatra trucks are C-130 Hercules transportable, with add-on armoring capability and NATO Single Fuel F34 operability. Production models are available in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10 configurations.

• Alternative versions with air-cooled TATRA engine/manual TATRA transmission or water-cooled engines with automatic transmissions of several diferent brands
