Renault Trucks acquires the Saint-Nazaire based specialist in military vehicles, ACMAT.

The acquisition contract formalising Renault Trucks’ takeover of ACMAT was signed in Lyon on May 16th 2006.

Through the deal, ACMAT becomes a 100% Renault Trucks-owned subsidiary. Moun Bourjij has been nominated General Manager.

Employing 112 people in Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), ACMAT specialises in the manufacture of military rolling stock. It has an excellent brand image on account of the simplicity and sturdiness of its products. Of particular repute are its 4x4, 3.5t payload light reconnaissance and support vehicles (VLRA).

The key objectives of Renault Trucks are to maintain the ACMAT brand along with its product range, and to continue with the company’s programme of research and development and assembly in Saint-Nazaire.
