JCB - Military Construction Vehicles and EquipmentOver the last 20 years, JCB has sold more than 3,000 green militarised versions of its well-known yellow machines to over 50 defence forces around the world. More recently the company has worked together with both the British and the US forces to develop unique military high-speed versions of its world leading backhoe loader and telescopic handler products. This experience combined with its current machine range makes JCB well suited to be a supplier to ALC for the C Vehicle PFI. BACKHOE LOADERSWith the models 3cx and 4cx, JCB is the industry leader in the backhoe loader sector. Both these machines have the powerful twin-ram slew excavator which is fast and accurate when it comes to excavating and loading or when used with a breaker and can lift up to 1.8t at maximum reach. The smaller models 2cx complete this range. In conjunction with the US Army, JCB has developed a high-speed backhoe called a High Speed Engineer Excavator (HMEE). In September JCB were awarded a contract to be the US Army's sole supplier of this type of vehicle. JCB wheeled loaders are in service with defense forces in Europe and the US. EXCAVATORSThe largest machine in this range, the JS460 which has a 46t operating weight, six-cylinder, turbocharged machine with the breakout power and lift capacity to make easy work of tough digging and high productivity bulk earthmoving. At the other end of the scale JCB's mini excavators are light, compact machines, perfect for reaching inaccessible areas and even working inside buildings. The 8014 (1.4t operating weight) is used extensively by the military on light construction sites that larger machines simply cannot access. TELETRUKThe JCB Teletruk is a compact forklift truck with a forward reach telescopic boom which makes the machine more versatile than a conventional masted forklift. A unique combination of 3t lift, variable reach, fully sealed hydrostatic drive and permanent four-wheel drive, it is perfect for loading and unloading helicopters and ships. SKID STEER LOADERSJCB Robot skid steer loaders are compact and manoeuvrable performers.
