Force Protection - Blast and Ballistic Protective Vehicles

Force Protection Industries is the leading manufacturer of blast and ballistic-protective vehicles that have been deployed in support of coalition armed forces and security personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and other hot spots around the globe since 2003.

With facilities throughout the state of South Carolina, the USA, Force Protection has also become the leading US center for blast-protection technology and counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) research.

EOD, FIRST RESPONSE AND PERSONNEL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES

Built for a variety of missions and designed for rapid adaptation on a 360° battlefield, Force Protection's vehicles are used for mine clearance, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), first response, and other personnel safe-transport missions.

Incorporating the highest levels of survivability, including such features as a V-shaped steel hull, run-flat tires, shock-mounted seating, and internal spall liners, Force Protection's blast and ballistic-protective vehicles have recently withstood thousands of blast attacks during more than 100,000 days of service in heavy combat conditions.

CHEETAH BALLISTIC PROTECTED LIGHT-ARMORED VEHICLE

The Cheetah is Force Protection's newest vehicle series. It combines state-of-the-art ballistic-protection technology with the mobility of a unique light-armored vehicle designed specifically for light tactical, reconnaissance, communication and urban operations.

The Cheetah's size and mobility make it an ideal candidate for both civil and military urban operations. With a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) overpressure system option, it is a perfect fit for emergency response teams and forward, mobile command posts.

Its durability and proven off-road performance also make it an extremely well-protected and fast reconnaissance-asset. Full production of the Cheetah is scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2007.

COUGAR 4X4 MINE RESISTANT MEDIUM VEHICLE

EOD teams and patrol units are the primary users of the Cougar 4X4. With capacity to seat four to ten passengers plus equipment, the Cougar 4X4 is an urban fighting vehicle designed for ordnance removal, command and control, and lead convoy missions. It has been selected as one of the US' Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles.

COUGAR 6X6 MINE PROTECTED FIELD AMBULANCE

The Cougar 6X6 is also used for transport of first response units, and can seat up to 12 passengers and their equipment. The Cougar 6X6, recently developed to operate as a mine-protected field ambulance, has a record of success that has led to the next-generation British Ministry of Defence Cougar Mastiff and Iraqi Light Armored Vehicle programs.

US Department of Defense MRAP Category II vehicle requirements also include this design.

BUFFALO MINE PROTECTED CLEARANCE VEHICLE

The Buffalo Mine-Protected Clearance Vehicle (MPCV), incorporates the most powerful blast and ballistic protection available with detection and removal capability, including a 30ft robotic arm and iron claw mounted with camera and sensory equipment. This allows personnel to examine potential threats from within the safety of the vehicle's armored hull.

The Buffalo is the sole source for the US Defense Department's Category III MRAP vehicle.

MILITARY VEHICLE SELF DEFENSIVE AND OFFENSIVE ARMAMENTS

Force Protection's vehicles can mount a range of weapons for self-defense and offensive operations, including 7.62mm and 12.7mm machine guns, and 40mm grenade launchers on ring and pintle mounts.

The vehicles are compatible with a range of remotely-operated overhead weapons stations for enhanced surveillance, security and crew survivability.

MILITARY VEHICLE CO-PRODUCTION CAPABILITY

Partnering with other leading defense manufacturers, including General Dynamics Land Systems and BAE Systems, Force Protection has the production capacity necessary to meet the rapidly growing demand for its life-saving vehicles.
