BAE Systems - Medium / Heavy Vehicles and Vehicle ArmoringBAE Systems possesses a long history of manufacturing wheeled vehicle products, from carriage-making to assembling Army trucks and rebuilding Willys Jeeps in World War II. BAE Systems is a world-class designer, manufacturer and through-life supporter of a wide range of industrial wheeled vehicles and military tactical trucks with 2t to 18t payload capacity. BAE Systems is the exclusive manufacturer of the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), the most sophisticated and capable current off-road, multi-purpose military tactical vehicles. BAE Systems' integrated vehicle-protection solutions include up-armored vehicles, add-on armor kits (with emphasis on integrated protection and B-Kits), gunner protection, ballistic glass, and accessories. We ensure maximum platform-performance, and optimize our armor solutions to meet warfighters' requirements. MINE RESISTANT AMBUSH PROTECTED (MRAP) VEHICLESBased on the ultra-reliable FMTV platform and the combat-proven Low Signature Armored Cab (LSAC), the Caiman incorporates the demonstrated performance of these components into a survivable protected vehicle designed to defeat current and emerging threats on today’s battlefield. FAMILY OF MEDIUM TACTICAL VEHICLES (FMTVs)Over 36,000 FMTV trucks have been manufactured for military forces worldwide. FMTVs set new tactical vehicle standards for capability, reliability, mobility, and transportability. BAE Systems offers over sixteen variants on three platforms – the 3t 4x4 Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), 2.5t 4x4 Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV) and the 5t to 10t 6x6 Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTV). FMTVs include troop carriers, cargo carriers, vans, dump trucks, recovery vehicles, tractors, specialty vehicles, and three trailer models. M1114 UP-ARMORED HMMWVThe M1114 up-armored HMMWV light tactical vehicle offers perimeter ballistic-protection, IED protection, mine-blast protection, overhead-burst protection and 'white glass' transparent armor, as well as gunner shield and gunner-protection kits. M1116 UP-ARMORED HMMWVThe M1116 up-armored HMMWV versatile armoured light tactical-wheeled armored vehicle features a gunner-protection kit, traversing turret-mechanism, expanded rear-compartment and added underbody M67 grenade-fragmentation protection. M1145 UP-ARMORED HMMWVThe M1145 up-armored HMMWV offers all the ballistic, blast and fragmentation protection of the M1114, yet is specifically designed to allow US Air Force Air Support Operations Squadrons (ASOS) to operate in the same environment as their Army counterparts. HMMWV ARMORED DEMOUNTABLE KIT (HARD-KIT)The versatile, interchangeable HMMWV Armored Demountable Kit (HArD-Kit) can be readily field-installed on most HMMWV variants to provide perimeter, roof and underbody armoring at a high level of ballistic and blast protection. It is available in two-door and four-door configurations. M1151 HMMWV ARMORBAE Systems provides a variety of armor kits for M1151 and M1152 HMMWVs, including specific armor sub-system components for inclusion in the vehicle-manufacturing process, and a specially-designed armor package that provides the baseline level of protection of the M1114. M1152 HMMWV TROOP CARRIERBAE Systems' M1152 HMMWV armored troop-carrier has five gunner stations, and provides 7.62mm AP and 22mm FSP protection. MEDIUM TACTICAL VEHICLE ARMORBAE Systems provided the armor components for the FMTV Low Signature Armored Cab (LSAC). Interchangeable with a standard FMTV cab in eight hours, the LSAC cab provides ballistic and mine-blast crew protection from assault-rifle rounds, land mines and artillery fragments. BAE Systems is the only US manufacturer of the MEXAS appliqué armor system for the US Army's M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV), which provides 12.7mm protection, minimum weight and maximum stopping-power when integrated with the vehicle's hull. BAE Systems manufactures a specially designed LTAS (Long Term Armor Stategy) cab for the FMTV that includes mine protection and low level ballistic protection in its A-Kit and increased ballistic protection via pre-fitted appliqué panels in its B-Kit configuration. The A-Kit configuration is designed to be the new base cab for the FMTV family. HIGH MOBILITY ARTILLERY ROCKET SYSTEM (HIMARS) CABBAE Systems' High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) cab has nearly 40 major enhancements designed to protect occupants against missile blast, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and toxic fumes. HEAVY TACTICAL-VEHICLE ARMORBAE Systems offers integrated armor solutions for M915, HETS, HEMTT, and PLS heavy tactical-vehicles through add-on armor kits and armored replacement-cabs. Our high-performance armor systems provide mine blast-protection, special wheels and rims, deflective armor beneath the cab, and energy-absorbing seats. COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ARMORBAE Systems develops vehicles with tactical configurations that incorporate various mission-specific options for customer-specified base vehicles. The Chevrolet Suburban, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Chevrolet Express Van are popular base units chosen. The tactical configuration enhances interior space and focuses on durability and functionality. Options include features such as masked gun ports, a slider-style roof hatch, weapon and ammunition storage and tactical seats, among others. The vehicles are primarily armored to assault rifle protection level, but BAE Systems also offers armor piercing and explosives protection on certain models. ARMORED VEHICLE ACCESSORIESBAE Systems provides protective accessories for wheeled vehicles, including Gunner Shields (GSs) and Gunner Protection Kits (GPKs) that can be fitted to almost any existing HMMWV turret; all-around ballistic-protective glass; and the Mobile Security Enclosure (MSE), which offers 360° ballistic protection and a secured checkpoint for various applications. Lightweight armoring solutions are also available for rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft applications, as well as individual warfighters.
