Cordstrap - Polyester Strapping, Lashing and Dunnage Bags

Cordstrap® is the world-leading manufacturer of corded polyester strapping and one-way load securing systems. We provide shippers with a safe and cost-efficient alternative to steel strapping and other conventional transport packaging materials.

Since 1965 it has been Cordstrap's mission to solve strapping, transport, and load securing complexities for a diverse base of customers. Our employees and partners are experts trained to solve all issues with customer-specific solutions. With our progressively expanding international network of two manufacturing locations in the Netherlands, one in the US, over 19 sales offices in 14 countries and a worldwide network of distributors, Cordstrap is able to supply the products your organisation needs.

CORDSTRAP COMPOSITE (CC) NON METALLIC SHIPPING STRAPPING

CC is the latest development in non-metallic shipping strapping technology and the most commonly used. Made from high tenacity polyester filament yarns embedded in a polymer coating, composite strapping is often referred to as 'synthetic steel'.

Incorporating all the benefits of bonded and woven poly strapping, CC strapping offers additional advantages like high abrasion resistance and the highest possible joint efficiency in the buckle.

These capabilities are completely unaffected by climatologic circumstances. CC strapping offers the highest printing quality and can be supplied in a wide variety of fine colours. CC strapping can be applied in a limitless number of applications.

CORDLASH® WOVEN (CW) POLYESTER LASHING

CW polyester lashing is increasingly used to secure cargo in excess of 100t. Manufactured from high tenacity polyester yarn, CW lashing replaces conventional load-restraint products like heavy-duty steel strapping, wire rope, chains and ratchet straps, and greatly reduces or eliminates the need for wood blocking and bracing.

The webbing structure makes the lashing very flexible and easy to work with, even in confined spaces. CW is extremely safe to use, and the shock absorbance characteristics are superior to any other load securing materials. This shock absorbency feature keeps the lashing secure through the most rugged transit.

Cordlash woven lashings are closed by specially developed buckles and buckle hooks, and tensioned with a manually operated tool or pneumatic tools. They are often used in combination with friction-enhancing anti-slip mats for added security.

CORDSTRAP DUNNAGE BAGS

Cordstrap dunnage bags are specially designed inflatable bags used for stabilising and securing cargo inside containers, railcars, trucks and ships, preventing transit damage.

Industrial Cordstrap dunnage bags are placed in the void between the cargos. When inflated they form a 3D bulkhead thus preventing the cargo from shifting.

Cordstrap dunnage bags are manufactured with one or more layers of wet-strength kraft paper with a polyethylene liner. The bags are available in different strengths and a wide variety of sizes from 60cm x 60 cm (24in x 24in) to 120cm x 225cm (48in x 96in), and special sizes are available upon request.

Cordstrap dunnage bags are equipped with two different types of valves. Re-usable dunnage bags are fitted with a screw-on quick-fill valve and can be used several times to reduce costs.

MILITARY APPLICATIONS

Today's modern armed forces must be ready to deploy personnel and equipment, sometimes at extremely short notice, anywhere around the world.

The last few years have seen a rapid increase in the use of box containers to move equipment and goods as efficiently as possible. With this comes the need to secure goods and equipment properly in the container and ensure safe and damage-free arrival at the point of discharge.

Cordstrap, of the Netherlands, have developed a number of special one-way load securing systems for use in containers and on flats to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum cost. These systems replace costly and time consuming traditional materials such as wood, steel banding, multiple trip load-restraint systems etc.

The Cordstrap systems have been used in helping move the Dutch forces in the shortest space of time from their units in Holland, to their peace keeping base in Afghanistan. Being lightweight and easy-to-use, Cordstrap's systems are just as easily used to secure goods and equipment for the return journey or for transport within the deployment area itself. As a one-way system, Cordlash is theft proof, which actually increases safety levels.

QUALITY

Cordstrap is ISO 9001:2000 certified, and our products are certified and approved by the Germanischer Lloyd, the Association of American Railroads (AAR), European Railway Regulations (RIV), and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and leading shipping lines.
