Clip-Lok Boxes UN Approved for Transport of Propellant for Howitzer Shells

On specific request from various defence contractors, Clip-Lok has developed a range of customised reusable ammunition boxes, which have all achieved UN approvals for hazardous goods, transport group II and III.

The requirements for ammunition boxes are high. They have to withstand dropping, vibration, shock etc. Clip-Lok reusable boxes are made of FSC- or PEFC-certified plywood and are assembled with strong spring steel clips. These materials make the boxes strong and at the same time flexible.

To secure dangerous items to be transported safely, we design special dunnage that holds the ammunition in a locked position, as well as protecting it against shock, vibration etc.

To ensure the boxes withstand the demands, they go through several tests at official institutes to obtain UN approval before they are released for shipping. The boxes can be shipped by road, rail, air or sea either as flat packed or loaded with ammunition. They can be made to measure e.g. Hercules transport or in 20in or 40in containers.

When loaded with ammunition they are stackable and the four-way pallet makes them easy to handle. When not in use the boxes can either be used for training sessions as well as be collapsed and stacked in storage where they only take a minimum of space.
