Three Way Direct Fire Weapons Effect Simulator
14 February 2005 09:44
RDE has added a new product to their line of retrofit kits to upgrade live training systems. The new Three Way DFWES (Direct Fire Weapons Effect Simulator) now allows to shoot with super elevation and lead angle within existing MILES environment.
Existing MILES equipment cannot deflect the laser beam, therefore firing with the barrel at boresight adjustment is necessary during live training. Skills achieved during earlier training in gunnery or combat simulators must partly be forgotten as the fire control system must be switched off during current MILES live training systems.
The new RDE Three Way DFWES does not require mirrors on the targets and comes at a lower cost than other designs. The system is plug and play compatible with existing MILES one-way-transmitters and eye safe for standard weapon ranges.
