Rheinmetall Defence Electronics GmbH, (former STN ATLAS) demonstrates during I/ITSEC their new MILES Harness instrumentation kit.
The system allows to equip easily existing MILES personnel harnesses of different brands with a serial interface. Parallel to an acoustic signal and storage, received kill codes can be read out to a mobile radio unit and be presented in an exercise control station.
RDE also offers in their line of retrofit kits all digital radio player units that are small enough to fit even with their batteries into existing ammo pouches of combat harnesses. The unit comes also with a GPS receiver and allows also SAWE functionality.
