LASIM COMBAT TRAINING LASER SIMULATION SYSTEM

The accuracy of the LASIM combat laser simulation training system and its embedded wound vulnerability software allows the injury effect of simulated hits to be characterised as slight, severe or fatal, depending, for example, upon the location of the hit and the elapsed time before simulated medical treatment of injuries.

The LASIM combat laser simulation training system also has an embedded all-weather combat identification capability, effective through fog, dust, smoke, glass, foliage and other obscurants. In addition, LASIM can also be used as a laser target pointer.

This multifunctional capability obviates the need to carry several separate devices, giving the potential for a significant weight saving. The combat identification capability in particular allows the system to be used in joint training exercises involving military, paramilitary / police and civilians.

FEMSWISS is the first laser simulation manufacturer to integrate a real near-miss laser into its training product. The multifunctionality embedded into the LASIM system is unique; no other laser simulation system is both a training and adequate real-time system.

The open system architecture employed in the LASIM combat laser simulation training system allows it to be used within existing instrumented combat training centres. The training applications of the system are extensive and cover a variety of training possibilities, such as guard service, road blocks, attack, defence and house clearance.

The LASIM combat laser simulation training system can be used as a stand-alone training system for exercises involving both small and large forces, or as a personnel master system within an urban operations training centre – or large fully instrumented combat training centres – with an Exercise Control Centre (EXCON) and full data transmission networked coverage. LASIM has both online and interactive facilities for a wide range of simulation training applications.

LASIM also provides an electronic aiming and alignment unit for laser to weapon adjustment; ergonomic design; an umpire unit for exercise set up, control and post exercise data retrieval; near-miss shot laser simulation; and wireless communication between all man-worn system elements (weapon laser, body and head sensor systems).
