CombatFX - Combat Special Effects

CombatFX designs, builds, supplies, manufactures and operates combat special effects (CSFX). The effective and realistic pyrotechnic and non-pyrotechnic services CombatFX offers enable a totally immersive training experience, providing the warfighter with the enhanced capability of experiencing a fully-interactive real time and real-life battlefield environment.

Combat special effects for live training exercises

Live training when combined with virtual technologies provides front-line operators, warfighters, law enforcement agencies and security personnel with the ability to hone their skills and make split-second judgement calls in a surrounding tactical environment tailored to specific mission parameters.

This allows mission planners and trainers to set up realistic and viable combat training scenarios for areas previously deemed too difficult to replicate rapidly, accurately and economically.

Special effects for authentic physical, psychological and emotional combat experience

Using combat special effects tests warfighters to a high standard prior to entering a live theater, further preparing them for the impact of their first firefight. It's as close as training can get to recreating the physical, psychological, emotional and tactical experience of a battlefield environment.

Live combat training facilities

In late 2009 CombatFX will be opening a combat training facility known as The Farm. Operated and owned by CombatFX, The Farm will be one of the most intensive and realistic combat training centres in the world today.

Consisting of 1,000 acres of secluded private property situated on the north coast of Australia, the facility will be fully licensed for live-fire weapons, pyro and non-pyro effects, explosives surface-to-air projectile testing and ballistic testing.

The Farm will consist of live-fire weapon training ranges, a CQB / MOUT training village, and a "kill house" and explosive breaching house; as well as administrative and accomodation facilities.
