Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground has won the coveted Service to Industry Award presented annually by the MIA, the world’s leading trade association for the high-performance engineering sectors which boasts almost 400 global members transacting more than £5 billion of business every year.
The glass trophy was presented to Paul Atkin, general manager of business development at Bruntingthorpe, by the Right Honourable The Lord Drayson of Kensington, president of the MIA, during its prestigious annual dinner at the NEC.
More than 500 senior executives from the high-performance engineering sector attended the event, which coincided with the annual Autosport International Show at the NEC where Bruntingthorpe was again exhibiting.
Mr Atkin said: "I am thrilled and extremely proud to have received this significant award on behalf of every member of staff at Bruntingthorpe. It is the efforts and willingness of everyone on site to do their very best for all our customers that gives Bruntingthorpe its unique appeal – qualities that have been recognised by the winning of this award.
"The high-performance engineering industry is extremely discerning. To be judged as outstanding, and worthy of such an award, speaks volumes for the services we provide and which we will continue to provide in the future."
First presented in 1995, the MIA Business Excellence Awards were created to recognise excellence at all levels within the industry.
"All companies in the industry are eligible for our sought-after awards," explained Jayne Thomas, from the MIA. "Nominations are made by our members, so it is the recognition of peers that makes these accolades especially meaningful to the winners."
Seven award Business Excellence Awards were presented. Other winners were: Business of the Year – Ricardo; Small Business of the Year – Anglo American Oil; Teamwork Award – Red Bull Racing; Export Achievement Award – D C Electronics; New Markets Award – Lifeline Fire and Safety Ltd; Technology and Innovation Award – Flybrid Systems.
