SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded domestic and export contracts worth in excess of €24m for Electro-Optic (EO) and land-based acoustic systems.

"SELEX Galileo is one of only a few companies that can provide EO technologies for applications on land, sea and in the air. Because we manufacture the whole product, from individual IR detectors right up to complex EO systems, we can provide an unrivalled level of flexibility to customers," said Mauro Gori, SVP Electro-Optics, land and naval at SELEX Galileo, adding: "These numerous successes in international markets are extremely encouraging."

Of the contracts, €10m Euros were for thermal imaging and EO viewing systems for both landbased and airborne applications. For land systems, SELEX Galileo has signed contracts to provide its Tilde family long-wave thermal imaging camera as well as hand-held multifunction thermal imaging cameras in both long and medium waves. For airborne applications, the company will be delivering its Erica Plus medium wave camera.

All of SELEX Galileo’s thermal imaging products guarantee a high resolution and high sensitivity image at all times and in all weather conditions. The company also received awards from Italian and international customers for contracts worth approximately €14m to provide its Hostile Artillery LOcation (HALO) systems, fundamental for the protection of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs).

SELEX Galileo has more than 40 years of experience in the development and production of acoustic systems that are
in-service with more than 20 armed forces worldwide.
