German Federal Armed Forces Organise First European Land-Robot Trial

15 May 2008

The ELROB 2006 will take place from May 15th to the 18th 2008 with the attendance of military, border patrol, special forces, police, fire brigades and civil-protection agency representatives from the major European countries.

Considered as an option for the intelligent substitution of personnel on highly dangerous operations, Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) will be the stars of the first European Land-Robot Trial conducted by the German Federal Armed Forces to provide an overview of the continental state-of-the-art in this field of robotics.

The event will be focused on short-term realisable robot systems, seeking to promote innovative technical approaches that will enable the operation of UGVs. The ELROB will be accompanied by a comprehensive exhibition covering a wide variety of robotics aspects.
