Instro Launch New Integrated Tripod / Pan and Tilt Unit

Instro Precision Limited have recently launched ‘Meerkat’, a new line of super lightweight tripods with integrated pan / tilt heads.
The primary design objective of the Meerkat range is to minimise size and weight to produce a support system that is truly man portable with minimum effort.
The Meerkat concept is a robust manual tripod / pan and tilt unit designed to support and control the line of sight of thermal imagers, night vision equipment, video and still cameras and other optical equipment.
Meerkat is currently available in two configurations. A combat proven fixed leg variant, offering an ideal lightweight support solution tailored for a low level operating height range (16cm to 45cm approx) and a telescopic legged variant ideal for customers who require a more extended operating height range (16cm to 120cm approx).
The Meerkat Uses advanced materials to minimise weight (fixed leg variant less than 1kg) and size. As standard, the Meerkat range features accurate quick release mechanism to enable different telescopes, binoculars, cameras and other equipment to be quickly and easily mounted and dismounted. Independent brakes are provided in both pan and tilt axes to lock the field of view or line of sight onto an object.
Instro’s ‘Meerkat’ payload adapters can be configured to suit the majority of interfacing requirements. Standard interface adapters are currently available featuring 1/4 and 3/8 UNC camera screw threads.
All Meerkat tripods are supplied with a lightweight carry pouch.
