Adams Industries,Inc - Military Night Vision Optical Systems

Adams Industries was started in 1994 as La Agencia Mundial, Sociedad Anonimo which is Spanish for The Global Agency, and shows how the focus of the original business was in Latin America. After becoming a registered exporter of technologies falling under the jurisdiction of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the company courted and secured a helicopter company and a night vision manufacturer to represent throughout Latin America.

Business started very strong and almost immediately the company sold a helicopter into Chile. This was followed by night vision sales to Ecuador. It was at this point that the limitations of a Spanish company name became relevant as potential customers were starting to show up in other parts of the world. Hence we followed what many companies in Latin America do and took the first letter from each word of the company name La Agencia Mundial, Sociedad Anonimo became LAMSA.

If you have heard of us, it's probably under the LAMSA or LAMSA Weapons Systems name which we held until January 2006. As you can see, our web site, catalogs, even business cards have finally caught up to this reality. Adams Industries is the culmination of running this company for over a decade and finally realizing that this really is a family owned and operated business and we are intensely proud of that. Not to mention that more people seem able to pronounce Adams Industries than LAMSA.
