Star Wire (India) Limited, a 25-year-old company engaged in the business of manufacturing special alloys and alloy steel of very high quality.

The wide range of armour products include bullet-proof jackets, bullet-proof patka helmets, the bullet-proof mobile morcha, bullet-proof sentry posts and observation towers (machan), caltrops (road spikes) and laser aim-points.

The main plant is located at Ballaabgarh, near Delhi in Haryana, India. The company has secured certifications for ISO 9001-2000, ISO-14001, ISO/TS-16949 and OHSAS- 18001 DNV, the Netherlands

BULLET-PROOF JACKETS

Star Wire manufactures proof jackets for all purposes. The bullet proof jackets are made of phantom steel. The Hard Armour Plates (HAP) used as inserts are based on bullet-proof steel that is capable of defeating the fire of various weapons with nil to minimal trauma effect. The required features of the HAP is to provide a bullet-trapping facility that ensures there is a ricochet effect where bullet strikes the plate.

The bullet-proof jackets comprise of cotton gabardine / nylon / codura harness. Our bullet-proof jackets provide NIJ Level IIIA and Level III protection.

BULLET-PROOF PATKA HELMETS

The bullet-proof patka (Sikh head-dressing) helmets, provide comprehensive head protection. The patka helmets provide protection against fragmentation munitions and low velocity bullets. The bullet-proof patka helmets have been exclusively designed for the Indian Army, paramilitary forces and various state police departments. They hava a ballistic strip manufactured from a high-density, die-pressed phantom steel. Cushioning material is used in the inner lining of the patka helmets for additional comfort.

The patka helmets have a distinct advantage over standard bullet-proof helmets. Stadard bullet-proof helmets provide protection against 9mm weapons, whereas our patka helmets give protection against AK-47 to the forehead and rest of the head area.

BULLET-PROOF MOBILE MORCHA

The bullet-proof mobile morcha developed by Star Wire is a multipurpose product. The bullet-proof mobile morcha is designed to replace the concept of sand bags, for both high-security zones as well as in the field of operations.

The bullet-proof mobile morcha also provides security to troops in a vehicle. Thus creating a temporary bullet-proof vehicle. The bullet-proof mobile morcha can also act as picket (naka) at important and vulnerable security points.

BULLET-PROOF SENTRY POST

The bullet-proof mobile observation / sentry post has been designed to be installed on any type of terrain. There are various versions of bullet-proof mobile observation / sentry posts. Protection side plates protect the insiders from weapons such as SLR / AK-47 at 900 from a distance of 10m.

BULLET-PROOF OBSERVATION TOWER (MACHAN)

The Machan has been designed to provide all round observation with complete safety against small-arms fire-assault from infantry weapons. The height of the observation tower can be adjusted up to 45ft by adding a set of 5ft-high scaffoldings and it can accommodate four to five fully-equipped soldiers. Erection of the tower does not take more than six to eight hours for a team of five untrained soldiers. The observation tower is provided with bullet-proof steel flooring while the roof is fabricated of fibre-glass sheets.

CALTROPS (ROAD SPIKES)

Caltrops are used for stopping any insurgent vehicle trying to enter a high-security area. Our high quality caltrops (road spikes) are made of alloy steel / zinc. There are two types of caltrops (road spikes) - one with 168 spikes and second with 238 spikes. Caltrops manufactured by Star Wire can withstand a load up to 10t.

LASER AIM POINT

The laser aim point is designed to serve the purpose of accurate aiming with AK 47 / SLR 7.62MM Nato Ball, 5.56 INSAS, Dragnov Sniper Rifle, etc. and also increase visibility of the target in pitch dark and low light conditions. The laser aim point helps the shooter to fire accurately at the target without taking conventional aim.
