Combat eye protection system

The Smith Optics Elite Division has taken Smith's years of experience developing the world's most innovative eyewear to design and engineer a revolutionary combat eye protection system. With this suite of integrated eyewear, we are offering the modern warrior a system of products that provide maximum protection, optimized fit, stylish features and the best Rx capability available. This complete package includes the Outside The Wire (OTW) goggle, Aegis Eyeshield and Interchangeable Rx System.

The Smith Elite tactical sunglass products are designed for military and law enforcement professionals. These models offer the style and fit that is expected from Smith but take performance one step further by offering impact and optical levels that meet and exceed the ANSI Z87.1 and milspec requirements.

Ballistic protection products

The Aegis Eyeshield is designed for use by military and law enforcement professionals and provides ballistic protection, superior optical clarity and best fit with helmet systems. The Smith Elite Interchangeable Rx system is available for use with the Aegis Eyeshield and is approved for use by the US Army and Air Force.

Our OTW goggle was also designed for use by military and law enforcement professionals and provides ballistic protection, superior optical clarity and best fit with helmet systems. The Smith Elite Interchangeable Rx system is available for use with this goggle. The OTW goggle is APEL approved.

The OTW goggle was designed to maximize overall field of view. Using CAD technology and over 40 years of mould-making knowledge, we have increased the peripheral field of vision on the OTW, exceeding the competition to give you every advantage while maximizing protective coverage.

Sunglasses for military and law enforcement operations

The Smith Elite tactical sunglass products are designed for military and law enforcement professionals to be worn in non-combat environments. We have taken three classic Smith styles and evolved them by leveraging our years of experience developing and manufacturing combat eye protection. These models offer the style and fit that is expected from Smith but take performance one step further by offering impact performance that meets the MIL-PRF-31013 and optical levels that meet and exceed the ANSI Z87.1-2003 requirements. Smith style has combined with Smith performance to create the Smith Elite tactical sunglass program.

Military design processes

Smith Elite takes the concept of integration to a new level by adopting the military's Human Systems Integration (HSI) process. This approach takes human variables such as fit, optical performance, ballistic performance, integrated equipment, and weapons interface into account to refine a product's functionality across the spectrum of factors. We design specifically to optimize performance, allowing real-world testing to drive product evolution.
