Revision Eyewear, the leading developer of purpose-built eyewear for militaries worldwide, has donated 200 sets of its Sawfly ballistic eyewear protection to various units in Iraq through the Any Soldier public donations program.
With the rate of eye injuries rising to 16% of all battlefield injuries, Revision has been as much in the forefront of education regarding preventing eye injuries as they have been designing and manufacturing eyewear protection to meet the rigorous standards of its military and tactical customers.
Any Soldier Inc. was founded in 2003 by Sgt. Brian Horn, an Army Infantry Soldier with the 173rd Airborne Brigade stationed in the Kirkuk area of Iraq. During his tour of duty, Sgt. Horn distributed packages of supplies with the address of "Attn: Any Soldier" in the address to soldiers that didn't receive any mail. Since then, Any Soldier Inc. has expanded to include any member of any of the Armed Services in harm's way. More information about supporting Any Soldier Inc. can be found at www.anysoldier.com.
"Revision Eyewear's underlying philosophy has always been to protect those individuals that put their lives and their vision on the line every day for us back home," Jonathan Blanshay, President of Revision Eyewear explained. "Studies have documented that over 90% of battlefield eye injuries are preventable. Any Soldier Inc. is a volunteer organization that supports the soldier on the field 100% as does Revision. This donation is our way of saying thank you to the many men and women that protect our freedoms on the battlefield."
